Changing Winds

My life is in the process of change right now. Good news: I start working tomorrow at UNO teaching English as a Second Language for their Intensive Engish Program. I'm really excited about this because I love teaching English to International Students. It's a challenge, but it's fun. I don't quite know what to expect yet, but I do get to work.

The Lord has been leading me to get involved in an English Speaking church, so I've started looking around. I went to visit one this past Sunday that I really enjoyed. It's about 20 minutes from the Seminary which is good because it means that it's not chock full of Seminary students. But the people there really seem great. So again, we'll see. I'm ready to join a church.

Classes are ending. Everyone else is rushing to complete papers, but my semester has basically ended. I only have to take one final. I signed up to take a one credit hour course this summer partly because I knew I might be working and didn't think I could work any other class in and partly because we're reading Eric Geiger's book for that class. I just think it's kind of neat to read and write a paper on a book that's by someone you know.

As the summer comes, I'm praying for healing. God is working in my life in some incredible ways right now, and I hope to share that more as time goes on.

There's a song that's really touched me lately. It's called "In the Valley"

"When you lead me to the valley of vision
I can see You in the heights
And though my humbling wouldn't be my decision
It's here Your glory shines so bright
So let me learn that the cross precedes the crown
To be low is to be high
That the valley's where You make me more like Christ...
So let me learn that my losses are my gain
To be broken is to heal
That the valley's where Your power is revealed"

That's only a portion of the song, but the words are beautiful, as is the song. God is glory.
