Last night, Steph and I drove to Hattiesburg to see our friend perform in the musical Guys and Dolls. It was so much fun partly because I love that musical (which is where the song in mytitle originated from) and partly because I just love Broadway musicals in general. When my brother, sister and I were kids, we each had a favorite movie that we would watch everyday. Kaleb's was Aladdin, Katie's was Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and mine was Oklahoma!. I was a cultured child before my Walker, Texas Ranger phase.
It's been such a beautiful weekend so far. Of course, I wish I were at Tech's homecoming getting to spend time with my family, but second best is getting to sit and study outside in this beautiful weather. We've finally reached fall break so I have about a week to rest before I start back to school and teaching again. It's so nice that both breaks fell at the same time because I definitely need it. Today as I've been studying, I would read a couple of pages and then fall asleep. I kept repeating that process all day so that now I finally feel mostly awake, and maybe now I can get back on task. We'll see.
