My future roommate and I are sitting in our living room studying...sort of. Obviously, I'm holding out until I finish writing this blog. Hopefully, after Wednesday, all will be sorted out with my roommate situation, and I will have two wonderful roommates who will move in with me. The Housing office spoke with me on Friday about possibly moving me out of my apartment into another one with other people, but I'm hoping that they won't do that since two other girls are planning to move in with me. I'll find out after the staff meeting on Tuesday.
Friday, we took some of our new International Students to Wal-mart to buy a few things for their apartments on campus. Two of my friends drove their cars and we piled 11 Chinese students and 1 Laotian into our cars. I had five in my car, and my car is pretty small. We get to Wal-mart, and the students start buying refrigerators, microwaves, and bicycles not to mention their groceries. Leah and I began calling people in our phone books that we knew had trucks, and we finally found someone to come pick up their large items. It was definitely amusing. While in the car, I spoke the few Chinese words that I knew..."Hi, How are you?", " Trouble" and "I don't understand" They really enjoyed that. Then one guy kept bringing up how excited he was that Hillary Clinton was running for president.
On Saturday, I spent the day doing homework. I went to Wal-mart Saturday evening, and I've realized that I'm going to have to stop going to Wal-mart by myself. I seem to get nauseated every time I go by myself, so I'll have to start learning how to bring someone with me. Mom is coming down tomorrow evening, and I'm so excited that I get to see her. It's going to be another busy week.
