The Winn-Dixie Greeter

I thought Jessica had a copyright on meeting crazy people, but I had a fun experience tonight with a homeless guy at Winn-Dixie. My friend Blanca and I were going to pick up a few things at the Winn-Dixie across the street from the Seminary so that we could make Taco Soup.

We parked and walked up to the door from the side. As we neared the door, this elderly gentleman dressed in an old rainsuit with a buggy full of cans turned to us and said very politely, "Good afternoon--- And I want you to know that You are Not Ugly." I said, "Well, thank you." And as I was walking in, I looked at the woman walking next to me and said "That's good to know." Blanca could hardly contain herself, and we joked about that the rest of the night.

This is just another small way that we know New Orleans is returning back to the way it used to be.
